thanks for stopping by.

it's been some years since i last made note of anything, so i thought i'd share this letter i just sent to Comedy Central, home network to South Park:

Howdy!

I have been a faithful viewer of Comedy Central's television line-up for years, watching such shows as MST3K, Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, and even The Daily Show when Craig Kilborn was host.

I no longer will watch CC after last night.

CC's decision to prevent South Park (another show I watch regularly) from depicting Muhammad was too much. Where's the temerity CC showed when it wrote the following to outraged Catholics?

"As satirists, we believe that it is our First Amendment right to poke fun at any and all people, groups, organizations and religions and we will continue to defend that right. Our goal is to make people laugh, and perhaps if we're lucky, even make them think in the process."

The words ring hollow. I would conclude CC makes a mockery of itself, but after last night's stunt with South Park, that's obviously untrue. CC is merely showing just how pathetic it has become.

while i can tolerate a lot, i can't stand knuckling under to bullies. if there's anything a bully deserves, besides a swift kick to the sac, it's laughter, derisive laughter, laughter loud and hardy. if we can't laugh at bullies, then only bullies will laugh.

i was last here the 13th of April, 2006.
